Once you arrive
at our camp the possibilities are endless. Whether
you choose to stay at the base camp for day hikes
and photography, or venture out for more extended
hiking and backpacking trips, it all starts
here. There are short
walks to great vantage points to look over
low-lying areas of the river where you are likely
to see moose, nesting trumpeter swans, and many
other birds and wildlife that inhabit the area. You
will be amazed what you will see while sitting at
one of these spots for a while. If you choose to
visit the mountains surrounding the camp we can
easily visit the alpine on a day hike, or plan on a
longer backpacking trip. Without a doubt, the major
attraction is a trip to the Tonsina Glacier.
Imagine being able to get up close and personal
with the ice that is still carving the Tonsina
River valley! It's awe-inspiring, to say the
least. We figure this is
your vacation, your trip to the wilderness, so it
should be customized to fit your needs and your
activities you want to do while visiting us. We
want to make sure your adventure is unique, and
will do what we can to accomplish that. Copyright
